Common questions

Straight answers, no jargon. If something you care about isn't here, it probably belongs here — tell us.

Which exchanges does it work with?

Coinbase, and only Coinbase for now. Everything — the trades, the prices, the list of coins you can pick — goes through it. If you keep your money somewhere else, this won't work for you yet, and we'd rather say so than take your money and let you find out. More exchanges are on the way.

Can you take my money?

No. Your money stays in your own exchange account the whole time. We never hold it, and we never touch it. The key you give us is a "trade-only" key, which means it is allowed to buy and sell inside your account but is not allowed to withdraw anything — not to us, not to anyone.

What is an API key, in plain English?

It's a permission slip Coinbase gives you. You create it inside your own Coinbase account and choose what it's allowed to do. You paste it into Carefultrade so the software can place trades for you. You can cancel it any time from Coinbase, and everything stops immediately.

Do I need to know anything about trading?

No. You pick how careful you want to be, and the software handles the rest. Every decision comes with a short explanation in normal English, so you can see why something happened without needing to learn charts.

What happens if it starts losing money?

Limits you set ahead of time kick in. There's a cap on how much a single trade can be, a cap on how much can be spent in a day, and an automatic protective stop on everything you hold. If things get bad, there's also a single switch that stops all trading instantly.

Can I try it without risking real money?

Yes, and that's how everyone starts. Practice mode uses pretend money and real market prices, so you can watch it work for as long as you want before anything real happens. Turning on real trading is a separate, deliberate step.

Does it trade on its own, or do I approve things?

That's your choice. By default, nothing happens without your approval — trades line up in a list and you tap to accept. If you'd rather it run on its own, you can turn that on, and it still has to obey every limit you set.

What will it cost?

We haven't set final pricing yet. The plan is a free level that gives you the daily summary and practice mode, and a paid monthly plan for connecting Coinbase and automatic trading. Early-access members will hear the pricing first.

Are you giving me investment advice?

No. Carefultrade is a software tool, not an adviser. We don't know your finances and we don't tell you what's right for you. You choose your own settings and you're responsible for your own trades. Please read the risk notice.

Can I lose money?

Yes. Trading always carries real risk, and no software removes it. Safety limits are designed to keep losses smaller and more predictable, but they cannot promise a profit or prevent every loss. Never use money you can't afford to lose.

When can I use it?

We're building a public track record first, then inviting a small group to try it free in practice mode. Invites go out in the order people signed up.
